Dan Anderton
Region: STA North West
After completing my first degree in Applied Sports and Exercise Science and having a research project published and presented in Italy I worked within Professional football for a number of years before joining the Fire Fighters Charity as an Exercise Physiologist/Exercise Therapist.
Following this I took the opportunity to qualify as a teacher/lecturer (PGCE) and that became my profession delivering both Further Education Higher Education courses. Here I took more interest in Sports Therapy and finished an Advanced Sports Massage Therapy course before then completed a Master’s degree in Sports Therapy.
Within this time, I had worked in Professional Rugby League and thereafter Professional MotorSport where I still work. I have ran the Sports Injury clinic (DA Human Mechanics) here in Cumbria for approximately 8-9 years where we have a lovely diverse client base ranging from young to old, manual tradesmen and factory workers up to professional and Olympic athletes. The STA has been a very supportive association so far and I’m glad to be a part of it. I hope every member is currently safe and well and if we can support each other through this tough time we will be fine coming out the other end.
