Region: STA North East and Yorkshire

I qualified in March 2019 with my level 3 and level 4 Active IQ diploma in sports massage with Velocity PT Academy. This then lead me on to do my qualifications in personal training as I’m interested in focussing on rehabilitation and aftercare with my clients. I qualified in my level 2 diploma in fitness instructing in January this year. I will be completing my assessments for my level 3 personal training this weekend, then I’ll be doing my GP referral. I‘all also be completing my assessments for my level 2 in suspension training soon.

I have loved learning all about A&P and the CPDs that have been available during this down time, they have been so helpful to me.

Since qualifying I have worked In sports massage two evenings a week in a room I rent In my friends cafe. I would love to be able to gain more clients to be able to rent my own space so I can reduce my hours as I still work full time. I’d like to reduce the hours in my main role so I can spend more time focussing on sports massage and the rehabilitation of my clients.

Since joining the STA in February I’ve not felt I’m on my own anymore. It’s a lovely community. I feel that in my region there isn’t as much of the community and support we could have. I’m hoping we can all change that together. Let’s get a support network for the North
